Some pictures that ended up in my camera when I was shooting a job for Deliveroo in December. Those green sparkling curtains had me shape my mouth like an O.

I'm blogging so much more again (really? insert the emoji that laughs until the tears are running), Instagram is still my favourite app, but it's so hectic. The blog format is so much better for telling stories, I would say. Thanks to those of you who still hang around here, I would like to know what you like the most about this place? Maybe it can inspire me when it comes to future blog posts :) xo

By the way, anyone remember the big hit Yeke Yeke by Mory Kante in 1987? I had a love-hate relationship to it. Elektrokid did an AMAZING remix of it last year.

  1. First comment on your blog ever :D I felt the need to answer your question as I am following you on social media for quite some time now. A few years? I can't really remember for how long. But your hair was pretty short when I first found you (; that's a hint right there!
I really love your food pictures. Most of all because of the beautiful dishes you serve it on. The swedish vibes are my thing.
Love all the other photos as well. Like when you are out for a walk and take pictures of plain shop fronts. I don't know - to me that will forever be the Sandra-style ... whenever I'm out for a walk and see a nice, old shop I immediately think of you and ask myself "Can I ever be as good as Sandra?" <3
I don't know ... I have a certain feeling while looking at your pictures. It's different from anything else.

I remember I sent you an e-mail one time. Can't remember what it was about though. But you answered back then and I felt so honoured. You are an inspiration, Sandra. Your whole personality. And I will never stop following you wherever I can.

I'm here because I love Berlin! Ugly and so beautiful in the same time. I used to dream living there.

And because you are Swedish and you are honest and you make nice things and great photos

  3. Still here, have been since 2011. I love your photos and glimpses from Berlin where I lived myself and which meant so much to me. I like your humorous posts and way of looking at things. It's nice that you've started blogging so much again and hope for many more glimpses and posts from Berlin in 2017 :) All the best to you and Johan!

  5. Hi Sandra :) I am so happy to see you blogging more - I really look forward to seeing your posts. It is hard to put into words what it is that draws me to your blog, but I think it's how genuine and authentic it is. Your pictures are beautiful and 'real'. Here we have a saying about people who look amazing whatever they wear "you'd look great in a black sack" (the bags we line our bins with) and I find the way you take photographs is the same, you make a black sack look beautiful. If that makes sense! I love your words and how you see things. I am assured by the graceful simplicity with which you appear to live your life. You inspire me. Your online presence enriches my life. I am commenting here in such a way because I want to let you know that the way you share is pure elegance. I absolutely love seeing pictures of your home. I love seeing and hearing about your work process. The images you share, the way you notice the details. All amazing. And you are yourself. When you feel quiet, that is reflected. When your energy is high you say more etc. The fact that your blog is so you, and offers beautiful glimpses into your world makes it so special. Thank you so much xx

  6. I've been reading your blog for years and I guess it's not very helpful for your future post ideas but I just always enjoy all of it. Your photos are so inspiring and I love how you talk about things. How you see the world just seems to make for a very good blog. I think hectic is a perfect description of instagram. I take more time when I'm looking at a blog post. They're both good, just different ^_^

  7. Hi, Sandra!
When I saw the title of your post, the song by Mory Kante was immediately sounding in my mind. :)
I am so glad you`re blogging more again. Thank you! Your blog is one of my favorite place in the past years(8-9(?) may be). I like to have a look at your everyday life - food, everyday routine, family traditions, creativity, mood, what happens in your soul. It`s very healthy to me to feel that a real, genuine human beeing is blogging here - with a strong positive view to the world around, but with her ups and downs, like every other human beeing in reality.

  14. Sandra, I enjoy your simple sharing of what you find in your everyday life. The way you do not try to spin a big story. I am drawn to your artistic sensibilities as well and how they shine through everything. I myself am a stay at home mom and artist living in the backwoods of Vermont (in the north eastern part of the U.S.) who traveled and volunteered abroad a lot years ago. I was born in Frankfurt! So a glimpse into your Berlin is very refreshing!

  17. Dear Sandra.
You are simply the most inspiring person I have come across on the internet. I love your sense of humor and your way of describing the greatest, as well as the smallest things you meet in your everyday life.
I discovered your blog five years ago when I moved to Berlin to study. I didn't know anyone in this huge city and I had no idea where to go for a nice cup of coffee, great food etc. In the beginning I felt so sad and lonely, but then I found your blog and I remember feeling so inspired and filled with a new can-do spirit. Your pictures of great buildings, details in the streets, cute dogs passing by and so on gave me such a huge urge for just going for long walks around the city and appreciate the little things. I ended up having the best time of my life in Berlin.
I just want to thank you. Thank you for making me feel at home in a strange new city and for making me discover the greatest places in the most beautiful city.

i think i started to follow you on flickr, many years ago. and i've been reading your blog before you moved to berlin.. i really like how you capture everyday life. all the little things around you.. glimpses of berlin (which i really like and i've wanted to come and visit this city for quiet some time..), your lovely home, your crafts.. whatever you decide to do, it's going to be great, i'm sure of it..
p.s. this is the first time i'm writing you..it feels kind of weird to write to you for the first time, since i follow you for such a long time. why i didn't do it earlier, and why am i doing it now? anyway - i'm writing :)

  20. Hi Sandra
I check your blog a couple of times a week - if there's nothing new then I look at some pictures of one of my favourite places Berlin and then it feels like I was there for a short visit. Your blog is so wonderful to me because it hasn't changed too much...like an old friend...grab a coffee and have a look...there's a real person there, sharing life with all it's ups and downs...and pictures of coffee and food...swoon😘

  21. I'm so happy that you're blogging so much again, Sandra. Even though I love Instagram, sometimes I feel like the interactions there are too fast and less real than on a blog, or maybe I'm just too lazy to type long sentences on my phone.
I've known you way before Instagram existed (the good old Flickr days) and what keeps me coming back to this space is your honesty, sense of humor and incredible eye for beauty (and good food of course!). Keep doing what you do so well :*

  24. Hello Sandra, greetings from Sydney.
I first started reading your blog 4 years ago when I had just come back from Berlin. A friend of mine recommended it to me, she said "you have to read this lady's blog, she takes photos of Berlin and coffee! You will love it!" And she was right :)
Your photographs are beautiful and make me feel like I am back in Europe. I love how you pick up on little details, patterns, or themes from your surroundings that other people would not notice. I especially love the photos you take of your apartment.
I enjoy your writing too - you are very good at telling a story in just a few words.
    Keep doing what you do,
