Today I met my friend Eva for a walk and fika, she's the only Swede I know here except for Johan. Speaking our native language is well needed in a world of mixing Swedish, English and German all the time. My brain sometimes sends out very strange sentences through my mouth.
I had rhubarb/strawberry pie together with my cappuccino.
Someone was in New York this week, do I need to say I felt slightly envious? ;)

see you!
ReplyDeletewhere exactly can you get such cake :)?
ReplyDeleteWhen did you start learning German? If it was as an adult what method did you use?
ReplyDeletei started when i was 13 and took it for 6 years in school. after that i went to university and studied german for a year, full-time.
DeleteMy son was in New York this week, too! for an Art Educator convention. Wow small world. As always your photos are full of inspiration.

ReplyDeletewe speak english and french to our cats as well, sometimes i wonder if they can understand us or not
:]
speaking your native language is like coming home.
ReplyDeletei know the feeling of speaking not your "own" language.
speaking german is for me like if my grandmother cook something of my childhood.
have a nice weekend :)
Hi Sandra. When will your Berlin-guide be ready for sale? We are goind to Berlin in the beginning of april. Thank you so much for a really nice blog :-)
ReplyDeletei cannot say yet, it's a huge work (it will be a massive guide!), but hopefully before you leave :)
DeleteWow I probably don't have to say this but you have a wonderful eye.
ReplyDeleteI love how bright all these photos are. That second picture of the road and the 'See you' are definitely my favourites.
ReplyDeleteEnglish and not enough French are my languages, though I'm going to be starting German soon. I sometimes like the confusion of clashing languages in my head. :)
i have the same thing with norwegian, english and german here! wonderful photos.
